Iteration FY26-3 Updates

The updates the Design System squad made for the FY26-3 release of OLYSENSE Design System (ODS).

During the FY26-3 iteration, the Design System team has been focused on the following:

  • Increasing adoption of ODS by AssetCare.
  • Foundation Updates: Refining and enhancing the core design tokens and styles that underpin the OLYSENSE Design System (ODS).
  • New Component and UI Patterns: Developing and releasing new components and UI patterns to support the evolving needs of our users.

In addition, we have launched the Design System Champions program to foster collaboration among squads using ODS. We are in the early stages of this program and look forward to expanding it in future iterations.

Available in @ods/components@3.0.47
We have seen an increased adoption of ODS by 50% by AssetCare during this iteration. We look forward to continued collaboration with all squads as we move forward.

We have made significant updates to our design tokens structure to improve consistency and flexibility across the OLYSENSE Platform. This includes refining the token categories, naming conventions, and values to better support theming and customization.

In addition, we updated every component in the ODS UI Library to utilize the latest design tokens.

With this update, we will eventually deprecate @ods/theme. It will be removed from the ODS UI Library @ods/components as a peerDependency in a future release and will no longer be installed automatically. The @ods/design-tokens package will be the primary source for design tokens. Please plan accordingly if you are using the design tokens from the @ods/theme package independently from the ODS UI Library.

Please visit our color system and color tokens documentation for more information on the recent updates to our design tokens.

Over the past two iterations we have focused on delivering new components and patterns to support AssetCare. We are excited to announce new additions to the ODS library, designed to enhance user experience and provide developers with more tools to create consistent interfaces.

The Stats Card is a versatile component designed to display key metrics and statistics in a visually appealing and easily digestible format. It supports various layouts and styles to fit different use cases and design requirements.

Visit the Stats Card documentation for more details.

We added a new Command component that provides an efficient way to execute actions or navigate through options using keyboard input. It supports features like search, filtering, and grouping to enhance user experience.

Visit the Command and Combobox documentation for more details.

Command Pattern

The Combobox pattern utilizes the Command component to offer a searchable dropdown list, allowing users to quickly find and select options from a large dataset.

We are excited to announce the launch of the Design System Champions program! This initiative aims to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among squads using the OLYSENSE Design System (ODS). Champions will serve as liaisons between their teams and the Design System squad, helping to promote best practices and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

So far, we have identified a few champions from the following squads:

  • Core Systems
  • Asset Management: AssetCare
  • Workflow Management: Reports

If your squad is interested in participating, please reach out to the Design System squad for more information.
